A CASTLE IN TUSCANY
This is the 1,000-year old borgo (castle & fortified hamlet surrounded by defensive walls) in Tuscany where Global Vision Foundation wants to establish a trans-disciplinary centre for global multi-strakeholder collective sensemaking, worldview transformation and strategy coordination. Situated on a secluded hilltop in the Chianti hills, surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, the property comprises a castle and 20 houses and is a gem of Tuscan medieval achitecture. The site was bombed and damaged during WWII. Michael O'Calltaghan was one of hundreds of volunteers who helped restore the site in the early 1970s. In 2015 he completed a feasibility study for the project, including numerous site visits, architectural plansm a detailed 3D model for the proposed renovations and a business plan for the first two years of. operations, . The estimated budget to aquire & restore and launch the centre is in the range of CHF 16-19m. We are looking for a compatible donor to make this dream come true.
